P.E lesson 31.3.20
Hello everyone, I hope you are well and managing to stay as active as possible during this time. I understand it is more challenging but if you can, try to do a little bit of exercise every day. It will not only keep you fit and healthy but will make you feel more energised and positive. Remember Joe Wicks is doing a Live P.E workout every morning at 9am on his YouTube channel. I have been joining in and I find it’s a great way to start the day.
For this week’s lesson I have got a bit of a fun challenge for you. As you know, we were most recently developing our racquet skills and playing badminton in P.E. We were working on achieving the following success criteria:
- I can show good control and accuracy when hitting the shuttlecock to a target/over the net and to a partner
- I can co-operate and compete in a variety of mini games.
- I can show an awareness in space, changes in speed and direction.
- I can move to a position to return the shuttlecock.
- I can show fair play and sportsmanship.
Your challenge is to come up with ways to play a racquet game at home. If you are lucky enough to have a racquet and balls/shuttlecocks you can use these. If not, don’t worry, I am hoping you can be creative with items you have around your home (eg magazines, card, plastic/wooden kitchen utensils, scrunched up bits of paper, soft toys). Make sure you have an open, safe space in your house/garden.
How many “keepy uppy’s” can you do on the spot?
Can you aim and hit at a target (eg toy box, washing basket)?
Could you play a mini game with someone at home? Count how many passes you can make to one another.
I am looking forward to hearing how you all get on with this challenge. Enjoy!
Miss Murray
